Oil on canvas.

The reference for this painting was from an unseen photo of Elvis Presley in the Army that I have had in my family for years. When my mom worked at Southern Living Magazine in Birmingham, AL, her neighbor was an older woman whose friend’s son was in the Army with Elvis. She knew my mom loved Elvis, so she let her have a handful of photos of them together. They were taken at the barracks in Germany where he was stationed. This was the only photo in the bunch of Elvis by himself. I wanted to immortalize the moment and love how he is posing.
